MITT ROMNEY ®, '08 PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL: Every media outlet has looked at it and said, you know, where is he coming from on that? And he's, you know, I think kind of desperate here at the end. I think he expected that after all the years he's been running for president, that finally he'd get it here, and it looks like Florida is not going to go his way.

SEN. JOHN MCCAIN ®, '08 PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL: If you read the entire quote, there's very little doubt as to what his intention was and that's just a product of his inexperience and his lack of judgment. And I've been involved in every major national security issue affecting this nation for the last 20 years. I'm ready to lead.

Quickies: Suri Spice, Hayden, Paris, Lilo & More

If Suri Cruise could tell parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes what she wants, what she really really wants, she'd probably demand earplugs. The mop-topped tot, 19 months, and her equally shaggy-haired parents recently paid a surprise visit to pal Victoria Beckham and the rest of the Spice Girls as they rehearsed for their about-to-launch world tour in Los Angeles. According to a posting on the group's Web site, Suri got her toddler groove on and "danced along to the music." Chimed in Mrs. Beckham, "Katie has told me before that she used to be a big Spice fan so it was great for her to meet the other girls."

"You can't schedule rehab for me. And I don't think you can schedule any DUIs." That's Hayden Panettiere, 18, tempting fate in the new issue of GQ, which names her its "Obsession of the Year" and disturbingly features her posing in a ruffled bikini while holding a hula hoop and in a frilly nightie while clutching a teddy bear.

Hurricane rallies, crushes Miners

TU comes back from a nine-point halftime deficit.

Brett McDade scored a career-high 26 points, and Tulsa erased a nine-point halftime deficit to capture a 73-50 win over UTEP on Saturday night.

The victory is TU's fourth triumph in its past five games. Tulsa moves its record to 13-10 overall and 5-6 in Conference USA.

The Golden Hurricane trailed 32-23 at intermission before exploding for 24 of the first 29 points to open the second half.

McDade was the catalyst, swishing a career-high five 3-pointers. Ray Reese added 15 points, and Rod Earls scored 13.

UTEP, which has lost 11 straight league road games dating back to last season, fell to 14-9 and 5-5. Randy Culpepper scored 19 points off the bench for the Miners.

If YOU Support Abortion You're...

Often times Abortion is Used as a Cop Out, The Avoiding of taking Responsibility for Your Own Actions, & @ times IMO can be One of The Single Most Selfish Acts A Person Can Commit.

Having an Abortion is NOT a Responsible Decision...It is a Decision to Escape Responsibility.

This Amongst Other Reasons Is Why...

I Support "Limited Abortion" as in Limited to Victims of Rape, Incest, & Cases Where Childbirth presents a "Danger to Life" of The Mother.

Witnesses Say Youth With Gun Had Gone To Hixson High To Sell Drugs

Chris Earl, assistant principal, said both Jones and Hall are former Hixson High students. Hall was a student at Soddy-Daisy High at the time of the incident.

He said it was just after lunch when he was advised that two non-students were in the school. Officials said they apparently let in by a student through a door that is supposed to be locked.

He said after a teacher rounded up both youths, he directed that they be searched.

Officer Carson said Jones was wearing a ball cap and he said he appeared to be making gang signs.

He said the pair tried to elude him, and he said Hall told him he was a student there.

He said he told Jones to put his hands on a wall, then he spotted the semi-automatic weapon in a pocket of his baggy pants.

CEO Praises Spectacular's Message

Many of the dances depict ancient Chinese legends of Buddhas and Taos, while others portray historical scenes and heroic tales.

Some of the dances deal with more contemporary issues such as the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong is a meditation practice and spiritual discipline that has been brutally suppressed in China since 1999.

"The culture showcasing so many ethnic groups in China was so incredibly at the center stage of these people who are fighting for a right cause," said Abittan. "No one has that right to do that to another human being." Beyond aesthetic beauty, themes that run through many of the Spectacular's dance and musical pieces include courage, loyalty, honesty, filial piety, compassion, faith, and search for spiritual truth. "I congratulate the organizers," said Abittan.

Who's ready for some football?!

Although not too many people will have to be tricked into watching the seemingly unstoppable New England Patriots take on the upstart New York Giants this weekend, there's no such thing as plain, ol' Super Bowl Sunday anymore.

What with the fancy promotional soirees leading up to the main event, the pregame festivities and, of course, the commercials that will have people completely rethinking their bathroom break schedules—there's something for everyone, even if you only know Tom Brady as the guy who's dating Gisele.

"We know for a fact that the hard-core football fan watches our show every Sunday," Fox Sports chairman David Hill told Broadcasting & Cable.

Atlantis launch appears iffy because of weather

CAPE CANAVERAL, FLA. With its aging space shuttle fleet facing mandatory retirement in two years, NASA planned to launch the first of 13 final flights today after a two-month delay.

NASA started fueling the shuttle this morning even though a severe weather system threatened to delay the 1:45 p.m. CST launch of the Atlantis, which will ferry seven astronauts and the $2.1 billion Columbus science lab to the international space station.

The space agency's timetable for the flights is its most ambitious since the breakup of the shuttle Columbia five years ago. But some independent experts caution that the schedule is unrealistic because of the spacecrafts' age.

The Atlantis has been in service for 23 years. Its sister ships, Discovery and Endeavour, have been flying for 24 and 16 years, respectively.

Kennygate for Dummies

Mr O'Connor has said the survey was never carried out. The tribunal has also established that the cheque was not cashed until April 1994 and so could not have formed part of the December 1993 payment to Mr Ahern. Mr Ahern said the 5,000 was received by him in the form of a bank draft made out to Mr Richardson.[/b] .

Focus on Function

Endurance and body-fat percentage and the strength of your heart and core are benchmarks, but we overlook the bottom line: how we feel and what we can do. It has nothing to do with awards, unless they spur you. Beyond the adulation, top athletes are fueled by inner affirmation. They know what they need — and train for it. So should you.

TimesSelect, R.I.P.?

The velvet rope outside any ordinary New York club seems more obnoxious. ... 1:53 A.M.

I always thought of L.A.'s Earl Ofari Hutchinson as an establishment-friendly, coalition-preserving PC type. I guess I was wrong--here he is on Mirthala Salinas, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's girlfriend, who may or may not lose her job next week:

Salinas is as much a victim of Tony's rapacious political and media egoism as she is a victim of her heart. Politics is a dirty business and the dirt and the business doesn't stop at the bedroom door. If a politician can lie, cheat and manipulate to scurry up the political career ladder, that same politician can lie, cheat and manipulate love. [E.A.]

P.S.: Some of the most rapacious and egoistic pols are the best leaders, of course.

LAST night after her uncontested "victory" in Florida, Hillary Clinton was introduced by... Alcee Hastings, removed from by the Senate in 1998 after impeachment from* in the House, under a heavy cloud of suspicion of bribery when he was a federal judge. (A bit of the colourful background here.) Bill Clinton pardoned Mr Hastings' alleged co-conspirator on his last day in office.

Doesn't Ms Clinton have any slightly less dodgy-looking Floridian backers? Or if slightly suspect they must be, ones whose former associates had not been pardoned from federal prison by her husband?
