Hillary Clinton - Elizabeth Edwards Win Online Booty Call Poll

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- In the spirit of democratic participation, casual dating website OnlineBootyCall.com created an online poll to let their members decide which Presidential candidate and spouse had the assets to be deemed "Booty Call Material." In the provocative poll, an interactive flash game titled BootyCall Decision 2008, Hillary Clinton defeated Obama with 55% of the vote, while 70% of voters ranked Elizabeth Edwards as the top presidential candidate spouse.

The Presidential candidates' attractiveness already garnered plenty of media attention. CNN questioned whether Mitt Romney is too good looking, the Washington Post balked at the slightest hint of Hillary's cleavage, and now, OnlineBootyCall.com enters the fray by asking which Presidential candidate (or spouse) is the most desirable date for an online booty call.

Japan's Car Makers Get Creative to Woo the Young

Having grown up with the Internet, they no longer depend on a car for shopping, entertainment and socializing and prefer to spend their money in other ways.

A survey last year of 1,700 Japanese in their 20s and 30s by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Japan's biggest business newspaper, discovered that only 25% of Japanese men in their 20s wanted a car, down from 48% in 2000. The manufacturers' association found that men 29 years old and younger made up 11% of Japanese drivers in 2005, roughly half the size of that group in 1993.

The streets of Harajuku are filled with consumers like 20-year-old Kazuto Matsui. "Young people can borrow their parents' car, and I think they'd rather spend money on PCs or iPods than cars," says the student with shaggy hair who is in no rush to get a driver's license.

Campaign starts for Kokoda heritage listing

Kokoda Track Authority executive officer Warren Bartlett said the PNG Government would meet officials from the heritage department over the listing.

But Nauro village locals support the bid of Australian miner Frontier Mining for an open cut mine because they say they are not seeing enough of the trekkers' fees the authority collects.

They have blocked the track because they are frustrated the PNG Government, allegedly under pressure from Australia, has not granted Frontier Mining an extension to an exploration licence.

Mr Bartlett said the track authority was trying to negotiate a compromise to get the track reopened.

"They all want the mining to get a fair go, to co-exist with the trekking," he said.

Frontier Mining officials were present when the Jack family clan felled a tree on their land to block the track, in front of local and Australian media.

Top advisor hits out over MMR & GM foods

Sir David said GM food offered humanity a chance to create a third agricultural revolution which could allow the human race to feed itself despite climate change.

On MMR he said 'My charge here is that your highly successful campaign has potentially led to a situation where we could have 50 or 100 children dying of measles in the UK.' Uptake of MMR has fallen sufficiently enough that low vaccine coverage in some areas means measles could spread. All the evidence, he added, shows that MMR does not cause autism. 'That's the basic message that every parent needs to get and I would love the Daily Mail to put a headline in the paper tomorrow admitting that,' he added, telling the MPs he had written to Mail editor Paul Dacre about the paper's coverage.

The paper refused to comment on the criticisms while Today said they didn't recognise Sir David's description of their coverage.

Schools Signal SOS to Help Reduce Rate of Teen Suicide

It may still be a taboo subject in society, but for freshmen at Massachusetts' Medway High School, there's no avoiding frank talk about suicide.

In early December, each of the roughly 240 students spent one of their double-period classes watching a video about depression and suicide presented by a counselor. After completing a self-screening survey, they could check off a box if they wanted to talk with someone about themselves or a friend. They left class with handouts reminding them to "ACT": "Acknowledge" if a friend has a problem; "Care" by letting him or her know you want to help; and "Tell" a trusted adult.

Hillary's Mutnemom!

Maguire makes one good point about b)--the big, initial Plame story, for which Rove was accused of being the source, was Robert Novak's, not Cooper's. Cooper's ran only online--it wasn't even in the printed Time, and it could easily have been overlooked in the fuss over Novak. But that leaves a), c), d), e), f) and g)! I say Rove's story is still implausible, though not beyond a reasonable doubt (unless Fitzgerald has other evidence). The other big pro-Rove factor: Rove hadn't talked to Cooper before, and Cooper wasn't a widely-feared Washington knife-fighter like Robert Novak, with whom any conversation was inherently fraught with peril and therefore memorable. ...

P.S.: The Wall Street Journal explains that Viveca Novak's testimony (she tipped off Rove's attorney that Rove might have talked to Cooper, and the attorney "looked surprised")

may bolster Mr.

B.C. Mountie who had sex on the job ordered to resign

A British Columbia Mountie who had sex on the job and used his uniform to draw dates will have to resign, an RCMP adjudication board decided Wednesday.

RCMP Const. Trent Richards admitted to having sex with women on at least 15 occasions while on duty at the rural detachment in Shawnigan Lake, B.C., on Vancouver Island.

Richards, 34, posted his profile on internet dating sites offering "sex with a hot cop" and posted a photo of himself in his red serge dress uniform on one site.

RCMP accused Richards of using force computers to pursue his extra-curricular activities.

Richards has been suspended with pay since January 2007.

The adjudication board decided Richards must resign within two weeks or be dismissed for "repeated on-duty sexual activity, as well as repeated misuse of RCMP information technology."

He has 14 days to appeal the decision to the RCMP commissioner.

Marcus Einfeld sent for trial on lie counts

Attempts to have the case thrown out came to nothing when, at a shade past 1pm, Mr Einfeld was committed to stand trial before the District Court on 13 charges that he repeatedly lied about traffic offences, blaming two on a friend he knew had died.

He sat for most of Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Syme's judgment with his head resting on his hands, looking at the ground.

"I'm satisfied that there is sufficient evidence upon which a jury could convict the defendant of each of these indictable offences," Ms Syme told the Downing Centre Local Court.

Ms Syme then asked him if there was anything he wanted to say in his defence.

Standing, hands clasped loosely in front of him, he responded: "No, thank you."

Ms Syme dismissed the arguments mounted by Mr Einfeld's barrister Ian Barker QC and described the police case as a "good" one, with "ample evidence" to place before a jury in support of the charges.

Diana's butler faces probe of testimony

The Sun newspaper said it obtained the secret recording of Burrell and was turning the tape over to the court Tuesday afternoon. The judge at the inquest, Lord Justice Scott Baker, said in court Monday that he had requested the tape.

The newspaper reported on the tape in its Monday edition and posted selected portions of the black-and-white video on its Web site.

The Sun's headline read, "Butler admits perjury," but the footage posted doesn't contain such an admission. Burrell is heard saying he didn't tell the inquest everything he knew and that he threw in some "red herrings."

"Perjury is not a very nice thing to have to consider," Burrell says in the tape. "I told the truth as far as I could, but I didn't tell the whole truth."

Burrell did not respond to repeated attempts by CNN to contact him for comment.

Buehrle also threw two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk and striking out two.

Pitching on an 82-degree afternoon in the desert, Webb retired the side in order in the first, striking out Orlando Cabrera. In the second, Webb gave up a leadoff single to Jermaine Dye, who was doubled off first on A.J. Pierzynski's liner to second baseman Orlando Hudson.
