| NARPO: Detaining terrorist suspects
Are we to wait until that time arrives and potentially guilty suspects are released before Parliament listens to the considered advice of the police service? NARPO supports allowing questioning after charge but does not see this as an alternative to extending the time limits on detention. Police need sufficient evidence to satisfy the Crown Prosecution Service that a ‘Prima Facia' case exists against a detained suspect before a charge can be put. As we have explained, this can take time. We are sure that the police should put charges at the earliest reasonable time. Allowing questioning after charge should encourage that position and be a further safeguard to detained suspects. NARPO supports the use of intercepted communications evidence in criminal court proceedings. Whilst acknowledging that an ‘intelligence only' strategy has its attractions, we believe that most members of the public will not understand that if significant intercept evidence exists, why that evidence cannot be put before a court.

Jonas Bros.' appeal goes past Disney
LOS ANGELES: Most young men can be forgiven for not knowing what they'll be doing two days from now, much less two years. Not the three siblings who comprise the hit trio the Jonas Bros. The superstars-in-the-making have every day mapped out for the next 24 months. If you're not a 'tween/teenage girl or don't live in proximity to one, you may not yet be in on the phenomenon created by 20-year-old Kevin, 18-year-old Joe and 15-year-old Nick. They opened for Miley Cyrus on her fall Hannah Montana tour to the delight of shrieking girls everywhere. Their song, S.O.S., catapulted to No. 1 on iTunes. Their second album has sold more than 900,000 copies. And that's just the beginning. Earlier this month, the band became the youngest act to sign a deal with concert presenter Live Nation.

Morrisons steps up its supermarket sweep-out
The assets at Dewsbury have a book value of £5.3 million while the Leeds outlet is valued at just under £1.8m. A spokesman for Morrisons said: "Staff at the Dewsbury and Bond Street stores have been fully briefed and offered a choice of three options: transfer to another Safeway store, move to a Morrisons store or redundancy. "Morrisons is working closely with all members of staff to find the best solution for each individual." The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) required Morrisons to offload 52 stores to satisfy competition laws. So far, the company has arranged to sell 45 of the regulatory disposals together with a handful of unrelated commercial transactions. Among the deals completed to date, the group has sold 14 outlets each to Waitrose and Sainsbury's and another ten to market leader Tesco.
Coveting the many talented gifts of Tiger Woods
This has been apparent to golfers since the world's No. 1 player cut his famous Nike commercial 12 years ago. Although the ad played to his connection to galleries diverse in age, ethnicity and social and economic backgrounds, golfers of all stripes quickly discovered they can hardly associate their games with his. "If you ever get half as good as Tiger, you'd be a pretty good golfer," PGA Tour pro Geoff Ogilvy said last year when Woods won seven times, captured his 13th major, at the PGA Championship, and won the inaugural FedExCup playoffs. "We almost expect him to win all the tournaments that he's playing," frequent practice round partner, good friend and colleague Charles Howell III said last week. As Woods tees off at 2:02 p.m. ET Wednesday (2-6 p.m., Golf Channel) in the first round of the WGCAccenture Match Play Championship in Marana, Ariz., near Tucson, he's firing on all cylinders again.

December 2006 Archives
Oh, and I love how they released this on a Friday night before a long holiday weekend. (Flashback to Nick and Jessica – Thanksgiving 2005.) Again, that's the typical celeb move so that the shock of it will be over on Tuesday when all the entertainment writers are back at work. But this is the Internet age, fools. We're on the case 24/7. Also I should add that Michael has a reputation of playing around on the wifey for years. Now he can play all he wants. .
